Overall Satisfaction with Jama Connect

We use Jama Connect for model based system engineering to track our design inputs and outputs. It allows us to trace and manage requirements, risk analysis/DFMEAs, and ultimately test cases and V&V.
  • Straightforward for standard use
  • Romer has been great at helping us when we have questions
  • Tracing is super easy
  • Management tree keeps things very organized
  • Customization of item types is not nearly as robust as other systems like Polarion.
  • Polarion also seems to be better at showing upstream and downstream info directly on the item you have selected. Not just what the trace is, but actual content from that trace.
  • There could be better information on how to create custom exports for those that don't know how to use mail merge.
  • It helped us manage requirements
  • It gives us a controlled system to track changes
  • It makes exports that can be directly uploaded to our management system to minimize manually inputting data into Word or Excel
We expect to manage our systems model, perform internal reviews, and export the information for release in our quality system. Jama Connect is perfect for this use case.
It's been pretty good. It's approvals are not as streamlined as a true QMS system like Agile or Enovia, but it has much better collaboration tools than those. It's better at both of those things than Polarion.
Jama Connect is more straightforward than these systems but not quite as versatile or comprehensive. I would choose those other systems if I were at a very large company working on very complex systems (which I am not).

Do you think Jama Connect delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Jama Connect's feature set?

Yes

Did Jama Connect live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Jama Connect go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Jama Connect again?

Yes

It's very good for small sized companies that don't have extremely complicated systems models. I could see it struggling to expand to complex systems due to the limitations in customization.
