Overall Satisfaction with KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training
We use KnowBe4 Security Awareness training to enable our employees to be another line of defense against malicious attacks on our network. I learned long ago that malicious elements will find ways around security technologies. These malicious elements will spend time to hand craft attacks against our business and network. After witnessing some convincing threats I knew training was necesarry. We use KnowBe4 to train and keep track of training progress. We also use the platform to periodically test our users comprehension and retention of security skills. KnowBe4 has allowed us to even automate the process of remedial training.
- Training end users on security threats with constantly updated content
- Phish testing platform that allows me to identify users that may need remedial training
- Track user completion of training, with automated emails to managers and administrative staff
- Recommend and help deploy effective security policies with real life threats in mind
- Track the overall employees knowledge of specific security topics
- Campaign automation, making deployment and management easy
- I would like to have more access to the phishing test data so that I can run reports more easily. I do it now by exporting results to CSV and create the reports from that. Could be easier with better access to the data
- I would like data on who is clicking the Phish Alert buttons, when they are doing it, and what the email subject lines are, so I can track how effective my users are on REAL phishing
- The free tools offered to potential new clients should be made freely available to current subscribers without having to fill out the marketing form
- The area I feel most passionate about with KnowBe4 is how it has enabled us to build a security awareness culture. The platform was central to several initiatives that allowed the IT team to build awareness and an overall sense of necessity around security awareness.
- KnowBe4 has also been an easy tool that allows us to demonstrate our companies level of Cyber Security. When we have been asked by potential new customers for information regaridng our Cyber Security, we are able to give more than sufficient evidence of our commitment to maintaining a secure network.
- The KnowBe4 platform has grown to include tools that allow us to be aware of new potential threat vectors and our exposure. This has allowed us to identify specific security events that have directly impacted us and allowed us to mitigate those threats early.
I have felt the leadership of KnowBe4 was ahead in this field and has maintained a lead on others in the field. I find the platform more mature and continuing to grow in content, functionality and overall maturity. With Kevin Mitnick, a former hacker, helping to grow the training content and tools, I find their approach to be better suited to my needs.

Cyber threats are always changing and becoming more advanced year over year. KnowBe4's fresh training content primarily has allowed us to stay current with security trends. Also having fresh content has given us the ability to keep our users engaged with interesting and useful content. Security training can be both boring and scary to end users. It is easy for users to become complacent or overwhelmed so having access to a vast library of updated content allows us to create engaging and easy to understand training.
We still function like a smaller company and as such still handle our user management relatively manually. We have internal processes that dictate when accounts are created or archived. We have used the automation within KnowBe4 however to create automated onboarding training and membership in phsih testing programs. The user management tools are easy enough to work with and the manual process has allowed us to plan out when a user will get enrolled in the security training. Some teams require users to spend time with departmental training before the security training while others require the security training up front.
Currently we focus on phish prone percentages and training completion. Moving forward we will spend some effort on security awareness and culture as a company. We like to track performance on Phishing tests whether a user uses the Phish Alert tool to identify potential Phishing emails, Ignores them completley, replies to potential phishing emails, or clicks a simulated link.
KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training Feature Ratings
KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training New Features
While I greatly appreciate access to these tools, we have not yet had the ability to take advantage of these features at this time.
I have been surprised at how well the AI tools available on the platform have helped me to target the needs of our users. I can now better identify areas that need improving by user or by the company as a whole. This is allowing me the ability to target training needs to the correct individuals and in the end improve overall Cyber Security for the company as a whole.
PhishER was a tool I was unsure if it was relevant to our company, but after struggling with keeping track of the Phish Alerts I decided it was finally worth the investment. Since implementing this tool in our environment Phish Alert reviews are practically fully automated. A brief review allows me to stay on top of what is happening, but everything else is happening fairly automatically. I have also taken advantage of the PhishFlip feature to not only keep us safe from potential Phish attempts but also keep my employees on their toes with real world Phishing templates that actually came into our organization. This has been a game changer, not only identify my hero's that are reporting real world Phish attempts, but I can see who might have been vulnerable and teach them how to stay safe in the future.
Evaluating KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training and Competitors
I would run staged trials of each of the vendors in this field. When we implemented KnowBe4 there were fewer options on the market. Now that I know how I am using KnowBe4 I would be better suited to create a demo program through which to run each platform.
