Overall Satisfaction with LogicMonitor

We are using LogicMonitor to monitor our server infrastructure. This is currently being used by our Server and Cloud team to monitor CPU, Memory, Disk usage, last reboot time, server online, server reachable.

We had three problems we wanted to solve with a monitoring solution:
-Stop managing the monitoring software and start using the software.
-Get valuable data on our environment.
-Get useful alerts on our environment.

LogicMonitor helped us reach each of those goals.
  • The built-in alerts are fantastic. By default all alerts are enabled. You can fine tune each alert as needed.
  • The deployment was quick. Within 4 hours I had about 90% of our environment configured in LogicMonitor.
  • The UI is quick.
  • The support and POC team are fantastic. They helped us learn about the product and helped us configure the solution for our environment.
  • The UI is quick, but it did take a little bit of time to get use to the UI.
  • Some tasks are not obvious on how to configure like getting WMI configured.
  • The UI is a little inconsistent throughout some of the pages.
  • We were able to retire our older more expensive monitor[ing] solution.
  • We're able to speed up batch processing since we were able to detect the bottlenecks.
  • SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (npm)
SolarWinds administration started taking more and more hours every week. The alerts we were getting were no longer valid. The major hack that happened last year made us reconsider our monitoring solution.

In our old monitoring solution, we spent more time making sure the software stack was working than time spent fixing issues it would report. With LogicMonitor, we were able to go from an on-prem app to a SaaS solution. With our old solution, we had someone dedicate 10-15 hours a week to ensure the product kept working. With LogicMonitor, we don't commit extra time to the application. Our team now puts those 10-15 hours of work, making our environment more valuable for the business.
I have meetings with LogicMonitor every other week to discuss the solution and how it's been performing for us.I bring my list of questions and goals I want to get accomplished and we work through them together.

During the initial implementation, I sent an email to our support group after hours to help get some clarity on on implementation. When I got in the following morning I already had an email response and the tech jumped into our environment and setup and example to follow.
We used a few tools from SolarWinds for monitoring our infrastucture. After two weeks of using LogicMonitor, I decommed our SolarWinds environment.

With the collector in LogicMonitor, we were able to automatically poll new cloud resources into the platform. That was a big issue we had with SolarWinds since the automation process in SW was no longer working and we ended up missing roughly 90 systems.
It polls everything we need for our Windows server environment. We're able to make changes to the systems before problems occur based on the trends LogicMonitor is seeing.

After using the product for a week, I had a good understanding on how to leverage the product to fit the needs of my environment.

Do you think LogicMonitor delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with LogicMonitor's feature set?

Yes

Did LogicMonitor live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of LogicMonitor go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy LogicMonitor again?

Yes

LogicMonitor is great for AWS and Azure resources. You're able to pull info from each respective API.

For our environment, we use Windows and poll the bulk of our resources with WMI. We were specifically looking for Memory, CPU, Disk space, and last reboot time. LogicMonitor gets all this data that was a requirement for our solution. We're just scratching the surface on what LogicMonitor can poll for.

Now that we are capturing all these metrics, we're able to get useful alerts for those metrics. I found roughly 50 issues within our environment that simply went unnoticed because we were not looking for it. But LogicMonitor found the issues, and brought it up to our attention.

We're also able to see live metrics on our systems. We've already made data backed changes to increase our workflow on some of our applications.
