Overall Satisfaction with Looker

We use Looker to visualize data for business intelligence and create custom reports that combine data from several internal applications, databases, and other sources. Our customer-facing teams use Looker to keep track of account growth and other customer metrics when supporting or succeeding our customers. Looker has been much easier for our team to use than other data visualization and reporting tools we've tried in the past.

Pros

  • Customization of reports.
  • Easily create visualizations from datasets.
  • Combine multiple data sources into a single report.

Cons

  • Navigation of multi-page dashboards is a bit tricky.
  • Permissions and sharing can be challenging to manage.
  • Notifications when fundamental metrics change.
  • Looker has given us the tools to make sense of internal data.
  • Without Looker, we'd be stuck looking at spreadsheets all day long.
  • Looker is included with our Google Workspace subscription, so it costs nothing extra.
The learning curve for Tableau Cloud was too steep for our team. After watching a couple of YouTube videos, anyone can begin connecting data sources and creating reports with Looker. Looker is also free with Google Workspace, making the decision between Looker and Tableau a no-brainer. We won't be trying Tableau again any time soon.

Do you think Looker delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Looker's feature set?

Yes

Did Looker live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Looker go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Looker again?

Yes

We haven't found a dataset that couldn't be visualized or reported using Looker. We use Looker for our internal reporting needs and even some customer-facing reports. Sometimes, it's quicker to use Google Sheets' built-in chart marking capabilities for a quick ad-hoc report, but most of the time, our team prefers to use Looker for reporting.
