RAP is a good alternative to conventional platforms.
Overall Satisfaction with ManageEngine Remote Access Plus
In our organization, we use RAP for remote technical support to internal clients and to control remote access for external providers, who previously used TeamViewer and AnyDesk without oversight. Having RAP on an on-premises server gives us greater control over users and an additional layer of security, It also allows us to perform various functions without having to access the user's endpoint, thus avoiding interrupting their work.
Pros
- easy to use and set up
- It allows tasks to be performed in the background, without the user noticing.
- allow on-premise installation
- the way in which teams can be organized
Cons
- The mobile app is not very functional and causes a lot of problems.
- The bandwidth it consumes on each connection is a lot.
- It consumes too much RAM during connection.
- The keyboard, and basic functions like pasting or transferring files are more complicated.
- It allows for improved technical support response times.
- It minimizes downtime for end users, allowing them to be more productive.
- Allowing access to external clients, improving access controls and security.
There aren't many others we evaluated on the list, but we actually tested several very good and comprehensive ones, quite flexible, but they either didn't offer on-premises installation or their cost-benefit ratio didn't suit our needs. There were some that had everything, but their pricing plans weren't suitable because they weren't flexible, and our company was in a very high price range for what we required.
