ManageEngine Remote Access Plus is the best tool that we have encountered. The best part about ManageEngine Remote Access Plus is that it supports Windows, Mac and Linux-based operating system hence it is the perfect choice for the organization. Through a single software, admin is able to control and take remote of every computer of the organization. We are using it to get the complete inventory of the hardware and software installed on the system. It provides complete control features like we can share file over remote system, copy and paste something from one system to another, and drag and drop the files hence it make it easy for troubleshooting the remote computer. Our admin can easily control the remote support and support them over voice, video, or text support. We are also able to access the remote registry of the end machine, we can do command execution on power shell and command prompt with admin level privilege. So, in a nutshell we can completely manage the endpoint and do the troubleshooting if required remotely and we can have complete report for audit and reporting purposes.
  • It is embedded with great features like voice support, video assistance, and even text support, which provides a great user experience.
  • It provides features like remotely shut down the end system, renaming the endpoints, full list of applications running, process use, memory consumption, disk usage which are very beneficial.
  • We can even uninstall unwanted applications, delete malicious files, kill heavily used process, modify registry values.
  • It helps in to keep track of windows event that occurs in the system, it also provides report in desired format.
  • It is an agent based solution which is a major disadvantage. We can not control the system which do not have agent installed on them. Hence this is a disadvantage. Even installing agent is a big task in a large organization.
  • Till the agent are not installed on every system we can not have full control over the organization network. Agent deployment takes time hence we can utilize the product with its full efficiency.
  • The pricing is very high, and it goes on increasing as we add more technician and endpoints.
  • The connection gets drop sometime while controlling in new release because it contains some bugs. We also need to have proper bandwidth for using it smoothly.
  • The implementation and deployment takes time and needs proper support from vendor. Sufficient documentation are also not available.
ManageEngine Remote Access Plus is very well suited in environments which consist hybrid operating system. It supports all types of OS like windows, Mac, and Linux. It helps in taking the remote of system and troubleshoot the m if any problem occurs hence engineers do not need to be physically present on the location for the purpose of solving it. It helps to keep a complete track of endpoints that what application, process is being used. It is not well suited in environment where there is no Active directory or SCCM server because ManageEngine Remote Access Plus need agent to work and deploying agent the environment where Active directory does not exist is a big task. Manually deploying agent on every system is very time taking and need so much of effort.
  • The controlling feature of this tool is incredible as we can have complete control over the remote system with admin level privilege, and we can execute the command of our need, we can install/uninstall the application according to the organization need which helps in making the endpoint compliant.
  • It helps in maintaining the proper inventory of all the application, process running the environment, and we can even generate report which helps in auditing.
  • We are able to control the system even without going to that system which saves time and effort. It helps in sharing the files remotely by simply drag and drop technique.

We have about 150 users and more than 300 PC's laptops and servers. Some users are working remotely from home. The tool is mainly used to connect to all these computers remotely for troubleshooting and user support, as well as for installing 3rd party tools with admin privileges.
Additionally, we use it occasionally to wake up computers from sleep, restart PC's and servers and for power off devices on the network remotely.

  • Sometimes the initial connection takes a long time. Rarely it fails and we have to retry.
This tool is ideal in any networked multi user / multi device scenario, where remote access/control/management and user support is needed.
It saves a lot of IT and user time as it limits user issues and down time.
It also saves money on the long run as it allows IT teams to work more efficiently and with more personnel.

We use Remote Access Plus to easily allow us to connect to remote desktops therefore we have the ability to quickly troubleshoot and see the issues as the user sees them. It's a seamless to use product that works well straight out of the box. Integration with other systems is not difficult and the interface is quite intuitive.

IT team is using Manage Engine Remote Access tool to provide support to company employees when this is requested.
The tools is easy to use with simple intuitve interface.
It has different configurations and settings and can be configured as per company's policies.
Hower you should consider that certain functionalities depend of the version you use and yor license.

  • On-Prem version has limitations on connection
I would rather recommend another product if you need robust, good support and reliable product.
The product depends on the license you and also on the infra model you use.
It goes well for remote users just if they are conencted to the VPN.
If not, the support is impossible if you use the onPrem version.

Manage Engine is a part of a bigger family and this module is just a part of the Endpoint Central which comes as a more advanced product.
Compared to other products, Manage Engine provides a better price but you get for what you pay.
Support team is not always responsive or sometimes inexistent.

It meets our needs for remote management of workstations and the ability to push patches and deploy software. Some of the functionality, although it works, could be more streamlined to enhance the experience. It would also be helpful to have more than two people simultaneously review issues so a consensus decision can be made on the outcome.
