Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Exchange

We have been in business for 21 years and have been using Microsoft Exchange basically the entire time. Whether it's us using it internally or supporting clients of Exchange, we've been involved. We've seen a move to more cloud-based email systems as of late, but we still have plenty of clients using it. It's a time tested email solution that just works.
  • Manages users well.
  • Overall reliability.
  • Exchange is reliant on a good infrastructure and server environment, so make sure you have that.
  • Powershell can be tough to manage.
  • Exchange is not cheap to set up or implement.
  • Once in place, fairly inexpensive to manage.
While similar, there are many differences between classic Microsoft Exchange and Office 365. We've been using Exchange for years so we've stuck with it due to the knowledge we have of it, but we will probably migrate to 365 to take advantage of the other perks you get with 365. For now, Exchange works for us best.
If you want a good old fashioned email system that works and is reliable, Microsoft Exchange is that. If you're a larger business and need better control over your staff email, Exchange is best. If you're a small business with just a few users, there are better options that don't need maintenance and are cheaper.
