Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro helps me to organize insights when I conduct the user research portion of the design process. It allows me to utilize premade templates to better organize the sticky notes that I write out. I am able to create affinity diagrams and collaborate with my teammates to easily see trends in our research and data collection. This makes the ideation process more effective.

Pros

  • Organizes data effectively
  • Has great UI to keep teams engaged
  • Allows for active collaboration
  • Many different options for use cases on team or individually

Cons

  • Ability to make sticky notes larger in rectangle shape, not just square
  • Easier exporting to jpg/png
  • Templates created/organized for powerpoint slide shaped features
  • Improved productivity
  • Increased organization
  • Made it more difficult to organize data into the final product slide deck format
Maybe suggest a "data utilization limit" for the board or have a setup where you notify users when the application may start moving slowly. Sometimes my groups would have too much data on one board and Miro would run very slow.
I think there could be more formats to help guide the user for designing in Miro towards their end goal. For example, if they wanted to later put their Miro data into a PowerPoint there could be a template for the sizing that a user would need for this
With remote work, Miro allowed my design team and I to have a very collaborative space to begin our design process on. We would often use Miro for the beginnings of projects when things are very messy and spread out. From there we would use Miro to organize data, and then we were able to begin prototyping in Figma. Miro became one of the top softwares we used in the design process and we always incorporated it into our flows.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro helps me and my team more in the initial phases of a project. I do not like drawing freehand, so I prefer Miro over InVision.
Figma and Adobe XD I only utilize towards the end of the project when prototyping begins.
I would mostly suggest my colleagues use Miro due to collaboration purposes. I think it would feel a bit awkward for them to utilize this website initially since they are more accustomed to using internal company softwares for collaboration, but I am very open to suggesting we use Miro in our next project. I think having an active view of users interacting with a board is helpful for projects that involve many moving parts.
