Overall Satisfaction with Miro
Miro has been a powerful tool while we've been working in a heavily remote workforce. We often use Miro to kick start project brainstorms and build out relevant scopes to define a problem and create project charters. I've used Miro both virtually, and also at project/team off-sites. This tool is equally valuable when you're able to gather in person as you can leverage the tool to capture ideas from all different attendee types (introverts, extroverts, entry and upper-level leadership, etc.) and quickly organize group feedback into trends.
Pros
- Data management: reducing the need for hundreds of sticki notes to keep track of, organize, and store
- Inclusivity: allowing all voices and types of feedback to be captured in an organized and non-chaotic/intimidating manner
- Efficient Collaboration: with Miro, you can get just as much accomplished in far less time than traditional sticki-note and pen-to-paper methods with large groups
Cons
- When the system is overloaded with collaborators, you can run into some lag issues
- When typing a lot in a brainstorm session (think sticki notes), it's not always clearly visible as the text can cut off and require odd scrolling within a small sticki note
- There can be a learning curve with those less familiar with the tool, initially cutting into efficiency savings from using the tool
- Greater span of collaboration
- Reduced admin waist and real wast (think butcher paper, sticki notes, etc.)
- Reduced time to capture the same level of feedback
While I used Miro with my company prior to shifting to a heavily remote workforce, the benefits of this tool of been maximized as we remotely connect. Miro adds another element, beyond simple decks, docs, and video calls, to foster collaboration and inclusion among project/team members.
Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?
Yes
Are you happy with Miro's feature set?
Yes
Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of Miro go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy Miro again?
Yes
Most of us have had experience using other tools such as collaboration docs, decks, and/or project management software (Google Suite, Asana, etc.). While each of these still serves a purpose, Miro has taken lead in our project kick-off, progress checks, and AAR stages.
