Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I primarily use Miro on a professional level. It's a product I've used in previous roles as well as in my current role. We're a global company with staff in different time zones and are all often working remotely. Miro is mainly used for workshops, ideas gathering, recording feedback from user testing, planning projects and roadmaps. We often use the Google Hangout integration so we can see the videos of people in the call within the Miro board. And we also have used the boards for asynchronous workshops so people in different time zones can input without having to join a call at an inconvenient time.

We are often tackling problems around user engagement and conversion, and Miro allows people share ideas easily and for us to explore lots of possibilities.

Pros

  • The integration with Google Hangouts
  • Wireframe library
  • Real time collaboration

Cons

  • Organising boards. I have access to hundreds of boards and it's easy to lose track
  • Alignment help when placing objects
  • Major glitches when the browser needs updating
  • Increased efficiency - bringing everyone together without leaving their chairs can make things quicker.
  • Improved collaboration - multiple colleagues can add information to one space rather than having multiple documents floating about
It integrates well with Google Hangouts, although we tend to lose people during the call as we migrate over the miro board. I think for users who are using a guest login it can create issues.
It's made collaborating across time zones much more efficient.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

It's great for remote workshops and ideation sessions. Any situation where you would normally use a whiteboard and post-it notes if together in person. The board URL can be shared ahead of the meeting, should you need people to do any prep work. During the workshop or meeting you can make use of features like: voting, timers (with music) and wireframe templates. I've used it with group sizes of 2 - 12 so far.
