Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro for brainstorms, collaborative team updates & project progress trackers. It allows for real time conversations, at-will stakeholder updates & cloud-based content that can be accessed from anywhere. It meets our security needs so we can have sensitive conversations around key projects. It also allows for external partner access, which is useful for agency integrations.

Pros

  • Collaboration for brainstorms - sticky feature is nice, and you can vote with emojis
  • Cloud-based with instantaneous saves, so content is never lost
  • Exporting or importing from or to sheets/excel is easy
  • Single Sign On verification is super nice

Cons

  • Notifications are tough to customize, I haven't been able to set notification frequency on boards I'm less interested in or curate the types of updates
  • Nav/ux takes a little getting used to, though once you get it it's not terrible
  • Would like a bookmark function for really big boards where you can move directly to last place edited or last place visited
  • Positive: easier to brainstorm with remote teams
  • Positive: easy to get information/see progress from collaborative teams
we didn't have Single Sign On at first, which made it clunky to get in and out of, but that's been cleared up. Training is always available, and you're often prompted upon re-entry to the site (though that's not typically the best time to get it, would be nice to set a calendar reminder for a later time)
It's made it pretty seamless, I have not experienced any issues once we gave access to either internal or external team members. It's easy to find the board you want to work on and share that link out to the rest of the team. We can add users quickly which makes keeping the team up to date really easy

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Well-suited: definitely brainstorms where many people can digitally interact and share/discuss ideas; project updates where you can make a permanent record of progress and stakeholders can visit to get those updates at-will
Less Appropriate: anything requiring polish - this is definitely a working, early on project tool, the tools to make it look really good and potentially direct a viewers flow through the information is lacking. A technology like Prezi is better for that.
