Miro - Why aren't you using it yet?
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We currently use Miro on my team at LiveRamp for many things:
- Sprint Retrospectives
- Sprint Boards
- Architecture/System Diagrams
- Whiteboarding
Pros
- Miro handles the creation of flow-type diagrams really well with intuitive arrow/flow controls
- The sticky note system combined with comments makes for a great review system for diagrams/boards
- The use of frames really helps organize boards and helps the team focus by using a frame as a starting point of a board
Cons
- Either I have not seen any or they could be added, but manual drawing (pen/pencil) tools would be a great addition
- There are times where the auto-font sizing can be more harmful than helpful. Not sure how to improve that, but it is annoying at times
- Miro has majorly increased knowledge sharing between team members and teams
- Confidence that knowledge is being recorded more often due to Miro's ease of use
- While I do not have any numbers, we have migrated from a different solution to Miro because it is that much better
Miro has greatly impacted our org's ability to collaborate, especially during Covid. Miro makes it super simple to get ideas "down on paper" which enables them to be shared across teams either before meetings or screen shared to really solidify concepts and get approval/buy in from other teams. Not only that, but the more whiteboards our teams create, the bigger library of things we can share with new employees etc
Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?
Yes
Are you happy with Miro's feature set?
Yes
Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of Miro go as expected?
I wasn't involved with the implementation phase
Would you buy Miro again?
Yes
Lucidchart really only competes with diagram creation while Miro does so much more. I only used Lucidchart for a couple months before my company full shifted over to Miro. But all I can say is that the way Miro flows is better from a UX perspective and I look forward to making boards on Miro where LucidCharts felt like a chore
