Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Facilitating workshops: Forvia is a huge company, present in many countries with multinational meetings and workshops happening. I use Miro to facilitate problem-solving and ideation workshops with participants from different countries. Everyone might be remote or sometimes in a hybrid format. - Working with my team: preparing workshops, creating templates for our projects, and such. I like the flexibility of Miro, being able to put in all the content. - Experimenting and prototyping: I am starting to experiment with the features related to UX prototyping, and it seems really promising since it is connected with Figma, so I will be able to improve the way we work with our UX teammates. - Knowledge repository: all members of the team will be able to drop insights about our new Gen AI projects to learn faster and store our experimentation insights somewhere.

Pros

  • Template creation and reuse for workshops.
  • Managing remote / hybrid teams meetings and workshops: voting, time tracking, etc.
  • Integrating all sorts of apps we use for our work: Figma, Jira.
  • Diversity of formats: post its, text, stickers, emojis, interface bits.

Cons

  • Voting feature: sometimes it bugs, and I lost voting results or was the only one not able to see them as a facilitator. I need to keep them for the following discussions.
  • Integrating PowerPoint slides could be easier, instead of having to copy-paste each slide, being able to paste several and choose if side to side or as a carrousel. The same thing happened to the many columns of our Excel slides.
  • Exporting PDFs: being able to choose the order of the frames, they are not being exported in the order I need, so I usually recreate a board to copy-paste the frames in the right order to then export.
  • It would be amazing to be able to import a PPT, modify it with Miro elements, and export it in PPT format with Miro elements being movable (even if not modifiable or in image format).
  • Acceleration of ideation phase of our projects.
  • Faster and better alignment on project insights and decisions thanks to better visualization.
  • Helped diffuse the innovation team's offer by showing how both fun and efficient our work can be.
Miro is helping me prove that multiple location meetings and workshops can be done remotely without loss of efficiency. I have been using Miro in hybrid mode, and I consider that using this tool is allowing us to reduce travel and be more sustainable. I used Miro with an internal client's team, which convinced her we didn't need to travel to the US for just one day of the workshop and that we could do it remotely. This is saving 15 people travel costs per workshop of the type. When remote is not an option, Miro is more interactive and engaging than other solutions (just Teams meeting + shared PPT).

Mural: at the time (something like five years ago), the Mural was less complete, less intuitive, and easy to use. It also had fewer templates, and it didn't have the community templates feature, which was something that I really liked to inspire me on new methodologies for working together better. Klaxoon: The tool seemed more oriented towards interactive training/meetings; I didn't like the feel of it as much. Apparently, Klaxoon is very close to Miro, and other colleagues mentioned it was easier to use with people who are less mature with digital, but I remained unconvinced.
Miro is the most complete tool in the workshop facilitator's toolbox, and it covers all steps of product development. Miro has allowed us to create interactive and motivating workshop formats for our cross-country workshops. It plays a key role in fostering the innovative mindset we need our teams to develop. It creates more flexibility than any other tool by regrouping all we need in one place.
