Overall Satisfaction with Miro
My company and I use Miro on a regular basis. It serves as an analog to a whiteboard, where we can go to view projects we are working on with Gantt chart-style templates or use it as a collaboration tool to drive discussions. It is also frequently used in my department as a means to conduct user research. It helps guide conversation with participants in a way that conversation alone wouldn't be able to cover. The resulting boards that we create serve as data points for us to use. We also will export the data to Excel to work with it even further.
- Collaboration
- Freedom of control.
- Exporting to excel is a bit confusing.
- Hotkeys are not quite as fleshed out as desired.
- Quickly expressing ideas.
- It helps team members get up to speed quickly.
We use Miro not only to communicate with each other but also with participants on new products during research sessions. Our team can review the boards that participants have helped to build and see exactly what each user's needs are. The communication of ideas in such a visual way is priceless, and the freedom Miro provides to express ourselves to each other is impressive.
- Figma and MindMeister
Figma is obviously not a direct competitor, but it can be used in similar ways; it's just no match for Miro's ease of use. MindMeister does a bit better of a job when it comes to mind maps and allows you to have a bit more flexibility when creating those types of boards, but Miro offers more overall flexibility with all of the templates and designs you can choose from. We went with Miro because the possibilities for collaboration are endless.
