Miro, the vital continuity of my brain.
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
I use Miro on a daily basis. Whether it's for co-development of strategic clarity or impact measurement projects with groups located across Canada, which can last up to 1 year. My Miro boards are therefore often very full of content, as the processes often have 3-4 completely different work phases. It's a tool that's extremely useful and relevant. In the last 2 years, I've enabled over 275 new users to discover the platform and use it at their own pace as part of the reflections of the impact strategy. This tool enables me to keep track of our many projects, to create mood boards, ideate and create, and above all to think in a visual and structured way without cluttering up all the walls of my apartment. It's the perfect tool to make hybrid work a whole lot easier, by keeping track of and refer to the latest thoughts and updates from the groups. For a few months now, I've been using Miro's AI to push my thinking further, thanks to Mindmaps that can generate new ideas and topics in line with the social innovation thinking I'm involved in. In all honesty, Miro has become the continuation of my brain.
Pros
- Miro enables multiple users to consult content in different ways, so that they can take ownership of the thought process.
- Miro allows you to keep both written and visual traces. And, thanks to Miro Assist, you can take your thoughts one step further.
- Miro allows me to develop visual content and collaborate with my other Google-related products. It saves me time.
Cons
- Sometimes, I wish Miro could have basic calculation capabilities (e.g. in the tables we can create).
- Sometimes I wish Miro would let me share more clearly with other users and understand their level of access (whether or not to copy parts of the table, what functions are limited, etc.).
- I'd like Miro to let me add images to the node of my Mindmaps. (not just as hyperlinks)
- !!! Miro has made it possible to facilitate and take strategic thinking much further with customers.
- !!! Miro made it possible to visually create several theories of change in real time with the groups, and thus to validate in just 1 meeting the thinking that was already underway.
- !!! Miro allows me to keep track of my projects without having 10,000 sheets and notes all around me. It has enabled me to be much more ecological in terms of paper, post-its and pencils.
We've been able to work with groups across the country (Canada) and even internationally without having to travel. I've even collaborated with my dear colleague from France to develop content and training. People can consult the board asynchronously, and it's wonderful.
For my part, I really have a user preference for Miro. It allows me to do many of the functions of these other tools more easily. It allows me to create visual compositions, it allows me to do follow-ups and online ideation. I really prefer the responsiveness of the team and the community around Miro.
