Overall Satisfaction with Miro

As a Staff Product Designer, I leverage Miro as our central collaborative design and strategy platform across multiple facets of our organization. In our design process, we utilize it extensively for facilitating cross-functional workshops, real-time collaborative ideation, and documenting user flows and journey maps. We conduct affinity mapping for qualitative data analysis and present insights to stakeholders. Beyond project work, Miro plays a crucial role in team development through structured mentorship programs, design critiques, and knowledge sharing sessions. The platform's collaborative nature has been particularly valuable in maintaining team alignment and efficiency in our survey feedback optimization initiatives, enabling us to better understand and respond to user needs while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Pros

  • Miro is a key tool for collaboration, whether it’s a brainstorming session or a project kickoff
  • Miro is fast, allowing you to create boards in as little as 10 minutes, which speeds up the product and design process.

Cons

  • Accessing previously created Miro boards can be challenging.
  • Losing network access is frustrating, especially when it halts progress on work.
  • Helped to improve usability score
  • Reduced project completion time
  • Increased enginners' satisfaction
We use Miro daily across departments. It is the primary tool for cross-functional teams that truly want to work together. From major kick-offs to mentoring, we have used Miro to accelerate processes, improve alignment, and upskill our teams with training workshops. Recently, I mentored designers into how to use Lysna for unmoderated user testing and I created a Miro for this purpose. I also created another workshop for some engineering whereas I created a game to differentiate the roles and responsibilities of researchers, designers and product managers.
Miro is better for collaboration in cross functional teams. Engineers, Product Managers, Marketing and Sales feel more confortable than using other tools such as FigJam which are more focused on designers. The speed is superior to other tools such as Google Jamboard or Mural. The way you can engage the team using Miro is higher and the core functionalities it provides are not available in other tools.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

You may want to use Miro for kickoff sessions, workshops with people from diverse backgrounds, and affinity mapping.

For design feedback or critique sessions, Figma may be better, as designers are more accustomed to that tool.

It’s also great for presenting the results of testing sessions in a fun, interactive way, especially for stakeholders without a design background. I also use it for mentoring and training.
