Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Myself and my team often use Miro as a way to ideate strategic initiatives and gather feedback on projects, plans, and products within our planning sessions. As a remote team, it’s difficult to do exercises like whiteboarding and other idea gathering formats. Miro makes it incredibly easy to share ideas, quickly map out a plan for a new strategy or product, and assign follow-up tasks for stakeholders. I also love the new AI summarization tools to highlight a bunch of stickies and bring them into a summarized discussion brief

Pros

  • Templates make it easy to quickly set up a discussion and idea sharing environment for planning sessions
  • AI functionality to quickly summarize content in a detailed and concise way to gather notes post meeting to formulate follow-up plans
  • I love the live working session tools to vote, gather feedback, and generally communicate in real-time in-app to stay focused on planning

Cons

  • One area I think for improvement is more templates. I often find myself taking a template and at least working it 50% more to get an environment that works for my scenario. On average, there are a ton of templates, but I could see Miro easily getting to a template level like Canva, covering multiple business sectors and use cases
  • I think the chat feature is awesome, but instead of having in the left-side tool bar as the activation point, make it an anchored option for users under activity or on the bottom or top right bars. Most of my team hardly used it until I mentioned how to access it, now they all love it
  • I don’t have hard numbers to attribute, but the ability to whiteboard has probably saved a couple hundred hours of planning time per quarter. I also cannot stress how messy things would get done if we didn’t have it available.
Tremendously. I literally cannot stress enough how incredibly valuable Miro has been in the ability for us to collaborate and ideate on strategic initiatives. We still reference Miro boards often, especially during bi-weekly planning session reviews and quarterly planning updates. The ability to capture ideas easily as a remote group is super valuable. I can’t speak to how we did things before, but I know the ability to leverage the softer for these discussions makes it an invaluable member of our tech stack
I like Figma conceptually, but it is a bit difficult to use as a non-designer. I love Miro for being able to throw blocks together, paste an image, and generally set up a mock design is awesome. It also makes it super easy to coordinate with our design team who then can take those boards and work on them in our web design platforms and come back to me with a finished version to review, all inside of Miro

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is well suited for ideation and planning sessions, especially for remote teams. It’s also great for mock ups for people like me who aren’t as talented with Figma or other design tools.

I can’t honestly think of any bad use cases for Miro within it’s available functionality.
