Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro every day with many teams around the world, from animation studios to individual artists. The ability to collaborate in real time with visuals and interactive videos is unlike any other workflow I've used and I've been using it daily for many years now. It is an indispensable part of my business. Being able to provide feedback visually to my teams and also store the progress of a big project on Miro is simply incredible

Pros

  • large amounts of visual information
  • collaborative tools for team meetings
  • easy to use interface

Cons

  • I would love to see vimeo link integration like what you have with youtube clips
  • I would love a lighter weight way to draw collaboratively
  • adding notes on video would be incredible
  • Email and Teams is okay for trying to coordinate teams, but Miro has the ability to let my teams contribute individually but in a way that is non-linear so the whole team can see group progress without having to scroll through old posts.
  • Visual consistency is so much higher when a team of 10-20 artists can all see the miro board and judge their own work by the group standard. I can also have sections on the board for instruction and naming conventions
  • Since first using Miro 4 years ago I have used it with every project since and every team
I work with people in 17 countries and without Miro it would be impossible. One hundred percent of my collaborations are remote and online. We reply on zoom calls, Discord and Miro to effectively collaborate. We have structured most boards to work from left to right to see the history of the project and keep everyone informed of approvals and process. The fluidity of the open whiteboard design allows us to adapt to the project in bespoke ways that help each unique team.
Miro is so much more fluid to use and intuitive than Figma from my experience. I still sometimes us Frame.io as well when dealing with notes on video content for animation, but Miro can handle msot of what I need for my teams with ease. I do wish there was a way in Miro to add notes to video clips and be able to share videos more easily, but I am still super happy with it

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is amazing for collaborating with artists who share images and need lots of feedback. This pairs so nicely with zoom calls to be able to take non-linear notes and share complex ideas. I use this for teaching purposes too.

It's not a complete tool for meetings though and still requires something like zoom
