Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro mainly in our brainstorming sessions with product people.
We have used it to show the structure diagram of the company.

Another usage has been the team composition to tackle small product task specific projects.

I personally have used it to build block diagrams that help to explain the inputs and outputs and the data structures of our software API's.

Pros

  • Collaborative work within and outside the company
  • Smooth and seamless interactions
  • Can feel the collaborative work as you can see the movement of other people within the board.

Cons

  • When I commute by bart (train) I could not work on our board as it has no good off-line functionality
  • I am an iPad user and the stilus usage is not good for Miro.
  • We do work in physical retail, I remember sketching the layout of a store and we could not use proper dimensions of the store. Even some basic vector-based tools provide metric.
  • Overall the tool has been very useful for us when interacting with product managers.
  • I use it in our team to explain the inputs and outputs of the software applications that we develop
  • The most important part for me is that it is straightforward to use so that everyone can brainstorm and collaborate in the same board at the same time.
Miro allows us to collaborate with a team of people with different backgrounds (technical and non-technical).
There is no need to be an expert in design to be able to collaborate.
Newcomers to the company have been able to use the tool right away as it is quite straightforward.

Sometimes it can be a bit laggy, but nothing of much concern for us.
After discovering Miro I stopped using Inkscape to draw my diagrams.
Also Miro helps to read comments from co-workers.

We use Miro for open meeting brainstorming sessions and discussions.

We use Figma in the company as well.
Figma is more technical and provides more options for high level graphics.
