Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I am a user researcher within a design team for an e-commerce company. I personally use Miro for analysis and planning of user research studies, as well as competitive analysis. I heavily use stickies for thematic analysis of user responses as well as commenting on screenshots of designs for review sessions.

Pros

  • Collaboration - I value how easy it is for all team members to view and contribute to boards simultaneously.
  • Sticky notes - I value adding sticky notes to a board, including adding tags to stickies.

Cons

  • AI powered cluster analysis of stickies - I experimented with this, but the results were not so good.
  • Keeping consistent scaling across a board. It is easy for the sizing of elements on a board (e.g. text, screenshots) to change as people contribute over time. More consistent sizing would be good.
  • Reduced time to complete qual analysis for user research
Generally good, although I sometimes find it is buggy when syncing with the cloud. I have lost 5-10 mins of work on several occasions due to this.
Yes, the team is typically remote, so collaboration is a key strength of Miro for us.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

I feel Miro is great for qualitative analysis for user research purposes and general brainstorming, competitive analysis and design reviews. I would not use Miro for more quantitative based work where I would default back to a spreadsheet type tool. Perhaps adding more quant tools would broaden the use cases.
