Miro is the best for collaboration and creative planning
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We sometimes are unable to be at the same location to brainstorm and strategies for the future. With Miro, it allows us to be creative together while connecting virtually. Like each of us can input ideas and move things around to get to what we want. It really helps with innovation
Pros
- When we are not close to each other it allows us to add different types of charts to show the flow of things such as business processes and plans for implementation and where it will go wrong and each person can input what could work and what couldnt
- We use the boards to track each person's actionable items and whether it has shifted to being done or not. We able to continuously visit this
- We sometimes have clients joining and being involved in the training, So it has to be online. Sometimes we require involvement from everyone and some games and activities are best done on a board like a classroom. This helps re-create it, but better as anyone can answer or respond to a question, game or activity that is being done by inputting it
Cons
- We, not often but at times have to close and re open the platform if it doesn't respond.
- We have high ranking employees and entry level/mid level employees engaging with it. It usually has to be explained to them, which is time consuming, and takes time to get used to. Especially to find the tools that are right for them and us.
- When we have boards that have complex data and videos and lots of items, it slows down and takes longer to respond
- Once everyone got used to it, it helped streamline conversations and planning. Each person had parts they had to work on while virtually connected and it was then possible to see how it all fitted together
- Our training got a lot better as it was more interactive. Instead of everyone speaking at once, the courses were easily guided and responses were inputted into the charts.
- Having videos, different information on one board with different sections, as well as clear outlining of whose information is where and how it will be viewed and presented, makes this perfect. I'm referring to training and workshops.
It helped immensely, as we usually are not available in one location. Each individual has a different part of the plan and action. They can work on it while we can view it, and then view the how the pieces of the puzzle come together. For example if we want to create a plan for our operation, and we need to ensure there's actions to run the plan, we can view the flow of it in real-time, with the relevant people providing input and us collaborating to change anything and course correct.
Miro is different, with its ability for different people to collaborate instead of just messages etc.

Using Miro
- Training and workshops
- Leadership brainstorming
- Looking at our progress on tasks and who the owners of them are
- For training and workshops. Games can be interactive, fun and learning opportunities with the boards and the learners inputting things from their end.
- Progress trackers for us to hold the relevant people accountable to the tasks they committed to on the board
- One person starts the flow and another works with the middle and another at the end. They simultaneously work on their piece while looking at what the others end of the chain looks like
