Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro for planning our workflows, including sprints in our agile process. This helps us define the scope of work and the timeline of our projects. In addition, we use it in our retrospectives to understand where we did well and what needs improvement. Miro allows us to visualize our work and ideas.
Pros
- ease of adding new components on the board
- ease of editing and customization
- user friendly
Cons
- sharing documents is sometimes a pain, at times it doesn't share properly
- add a feature where users can make changes anonymously for feedback use cases
- allows team to align on project goals and timeline
- allows each team member to contribute to brainstorming and planning
- reduces planning time and operation overheads
Adding post-its on the board has been the most used for our team. Most of the time we work virtually so this feature allows us to simulate being in the same room together with a white board in front of us. It allows us to spitball all our ideas simultaneously and bring them all together.
When doing planning, we do write down our specific stories in our agile workflow. Once done, we need to copy paste each of our post its into our sprint-tracking platform. While Miro does a great job enabling us to plan and articulate it into words and visual timelines, the next step is a slow and manual process. It would be great to be able to export our post-its somehow onto popular platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira.
Miro has been nice to use because there are fewer limitations allowing for more creativity and unrestricted freedom. It's also a nice touch to have a large variety of templates to choose from. However, Miro does have a bit more of a learning curve as most things that are more flexible and offer more tools. Still, most functionality is easy to pick up regardless.
