monday.com turns "Monday" into a good word.
Overall Satisfaction with monday.com
I work in the corporate marketing and communications (marcom) department, which is approximately 20 people. Before using monday.com, we used spreadsheets and other ad hoc methods to track workload. When we started using monday.com, we used it as a central location for our workload tracking. Realizing that we weren't utilizing the tool to its fullest, we revamped it and turned it into the true project management tool that it is. Now, monday.com is our single source of information for all marcom projects that will take more than one hour to complete. We have automated processes, dashboards, communications, and more. We increased our effectiveness as well as workload management with the ability to automate review processes. Having everything in one place is invaluable.
Pros
- Automate our review processes.
- Provide the right balance of structure and flexibility to present the information in a variety of ways.
- Supports accurate marcom project timelines remembering the various individuals that need to be included throughout the process.
- Reporting and dashboard visualization by both the board and individual.
Cons
- Individual board views for corporate accounts. Right now, if I change the folder order, it changes for all of our users.
- Notifications if certain timelines deviate from the standard. For example, if I enter a project that should take two weeks to complete, but I only include one week, a notification to bring that to my attention.
- Notifications if inventory is not available. For example, we use monday.com to track everything we need for conferences and special events. If I order an item that is either not available or doesn't have enough inventory in stock, a notification to bring that to my attention.
- Time savings - being able to see all of the projects either by board or by individual.
- Increased employee adoption - we rolled out our improved monday.com process in Jan. 2023. We added a significant process in May 2023. Adding the new process was easy because the marcom team was so comfortable and already relying on monday.com.
- Overall system flexibility - we arrange our boards by our timesheet categories. This also increases efficiency when employees are either looking for a project in monday.com or filling out their timesheet because everything is consistent.
I highly recommend monday.com. The corporate marcom department has benefitted greatly from implementing this as our work management software. It keeps all of our projects in a single location, includes various automations to improve our team's efficiency, and has the flexibility to create custom data views - to name a few. As marcom employees, we are required to keep monday.com updated regularly, and I use it countless times throughout my work day to keep my projects on track.
