Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

We rely on automations and form submissions to start our workflows or create projects. As tasks move through a workflow, it's very easy to see what stage of the workflow the task is in. Projects that are created give the flexibility to the project managers to assign tasks and keep everyone on track.

Pros

  • Automations
  • Notifications
  • User Management

Cons

  • Subitem Automations - this would be so helpful.
  • Include many apps free of charge instead of having to pay for each individual app
  • Allow users that are in the same domain to be guests. We work with sevaral departments and need them to interact with the system and not just be a viewer. These are temporary sponsors.
  • Develope a simple vertical view of each task instead of scrolling side to side as in a spreadsheet.
  • The positive impact is the ability to report on productivity and knowing how much work our team has.
  • The ability to prove how many projects or workflows our team has completed.
  • Negative impact - a few employees don't like using monday.com. They were used to a less formal system.
It took us almost a full year to figure out how we wanted to work with monday.com. Some features are so close to being perfect but miss the mark by a small margin. Although the automations are great, I find myselfhaving to use Zapier to fully automate th eplatform. Our campus recently switched from Google apps for education to the Microsoft platform. There isn't a built in way to send an email from monday.com through a microsoft account. I have tried to connect Power Automate to monday.com from our Microsoft account, but in order to do so, I have to purchase the ability from monday.com - which seems counterproductive.
It sometimes takes a bit for customer service to return an email message. Chats are great. I wish the CSR had answers regarding the apps that are developed by other companies. I'm still waiting for a response to a question I sent to an external app (Power Automate) and it's been over 3 days now.
For the most part monday.com is very reliable. There are always times when a feature breaks in all SAS, and it's never at a convenient time. Currently, we have over 100 workflows and projects. monday.com processes tasks seamlessly and saves all of us time with its' automations. We are hoping we can continue to use monday.com and not have to switch to MS Project as it would be a severe downgrade in features.

Do you think monday.com delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with monday.com's feature set?

Yes

Did monday.com live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of monday.com go as expected?

No

Would you buy monday.com again?

Yes

monday.com is very good with a form submission turning into a project or workflow and tracking productivity.

We tried using monday.com to track our overall department budget instead of using FileMaker or Excel. This was a scenario that didn't work well and we reverted back to our previous system. It's great for a project budget, but not a departmental budget.
