Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use monday.com as a project management tool. We are an educational travel company so each of our programs are planned and managed on an individual board. We also have a dashboard which helps me as a Team Lead to get a bird's eye view of all the programs and their statuses. Apart from this we plan our sprints, social media calendar on monday.com as well.

Pros and Cons

Pros

The user experience of monday.com is fantastic. It is the only project management tool out there which doesn't look boring.
The ever improving features!! Love the fact that monday.com addresses issues faced by it's users and are always improving and releasing new features.
The conversation feature (tagging, uploading files, etc.) inside every line item in a board helps the team to be updated on progress and not rely on any other communication tool like WhatsApp.

Cons

The formulas column is a bit difficult to get a hold of. Need to simplify or may be it should allow excel formulas to integrate (this way one can import existing formulas from an excel/google sheet)
Pricing! This is an expensive tool and sometimes it becomes the dealbreaker.
Need the freedom to rename the first column of the board. It just says 'item' right now.

Return on Investment

Employee adoption is the biggest impact. We have seen a lot of friction in the past by our team to adopt new tools.
Per seat cost of the tool is pretty high. When the team size grow we either start adding new team members as gusts or the leadership team immediately starts looking for alternate tools (example: Zoho in India)
The basic setup of monday.com has been pretty easy especially when it comes to new boards (thanks to the templates!) but whenever we have complex requirement it's not easy to find an affordable consultant

Usability

The adoption to monday.com is very smooth and simple thanks to it's User Experience. The templates definitely helps the team leads to get creative and take initiatives in their departments. The integration and automations features are easy to use as well. The only downside I see is the moment requirements gets complex, the intuitiveness disappears and confusion starts.

Support Rating

Honestly didn't use a lot of customer support in recent times and maybe the reason is it's inaccessibility. We used customer support a lot back in 2017 when the tool was called dapulse. The requirements at that time were simple so the support felt adequate. Now that the tool has so many complex features, the support is not good enough for our complex requirements.

Reliability & Availability

Overall performance of monday.com is great. The tool is amazing and very intuitive, reliable for small teams who wants to start their journey towards efficiency. Especially as a Work Management Software it's a blessing for small teams (love the conversation feature inside line items). Reliability goes down as the team size increases.

I feel monday.com is best suited for smaller teams which are trying to get more efficient and sorted. There is little to no friction by a team to move to this tool as it is simple and fun to use. Small call centers!! I have executed monday.com in 2 companies which had 2 call centers. The lead management capabilities of monday.com are fantastic.
