Use Cases and Deployment Scope

NetSuite is a cloud-based system so we can connect
from anywhere with internet connection.
This has been a game-changer since our company switched to a hybrid work
schedule. The software interface is very
clean and easy to use. Almost all
accounting/billing functions can be performed entirely within the system or can
be done via uploads for large/bulk entries.
NetSuite is very customizable and was fairly easy to implement with the
help of a consulting company called Appficiency.

Poor reporting functionality, they want you to purchase an additional budgeting & reporting module
Due to the level of customization, there were some complexities during go-live that created additional errors
Expensive compared to other ERP systems

Return on Investment

We can easily manage all accounting and billing processes remotely
We have been able to speed up many of our accounting processes
The biggest negative was we had to purchase an additional budgeting/reporting software in additional to NetSuite
Implementation/go live could have been improved

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

I used Microsoft Dynamics 365 for several years at my prior company, and I would probably give NetSuite ERP the slight edge over Microsoft Dynamics. Netsuite is a little cleaner, easier to use and more customizable. We really appreciate the ongoing customer support from NetSuite and our account reps are always very helpful. NetSuite is definitely more expensive, and was the most expensive product we looked at implementing.

Usability

I would rate the overall usability as a 9. We can perform almost all functions that we need to as a baseball organization. The only areas that are lacking are the reporting and budgeting functions. There was a steep learning curve for some users in the beginning, but once we figured out how to utilize the system and improve our processes within NetSuite most users were happy with the switch to NetSuite.

Support Rating

The customer support has been great, and has helped us figure out a solution to almost every issue we have come across. Of course, that comes with a price so we end up paying anytime we use customer support and if we want to do any additional "out of scope" work.

Likelihood to Recommend

NetSuite has been a great ERP system upgrade for our
organization. We have been able to speed
up our accounting processes and can easily manage all accounting and billing
functions remotely. The implementation
went smoothly and the customer support has been world class.

I would not use NetSuite for Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting functions. Lacks the complexity needed for advanced budgeting and forecasting. We had to purchase an additional software program called Vena to perform our budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
