Overall Satisfaction with Notion

After using Notion for team collaboration, I'd say it's solid for organizing shared knowledge. Really handy for linking docs and info together, and the workspace setup is pretty intuitive. While it works fine for file sharing and bookmarking, its real strength is as a team knowledge hub. I also use it personally with the PARA and Zettelkasten system as a second brain.

Pros

  • Connecting notes
  • Limitless pages
  • Simple interface

Cons

  • Kind of slow to load
  • I wish there are file previews for any file formats other than jpg or png such as design files
  • Interface could be prettier?
  • Less time spent on searching for files or minute notes
  • No more 'lost' documents
  • Effective knowledge base sharing
Notion strikes a nice balance between simplicity and power. Basic users can jump right in, while tech enthusiasts can customize to their heart's content. It loads faster than visual-heavy apps, though not quite as snappy as lightweight note apps like Bear.
The task management could be more streamlined - I still find myself reaching for dedicated to-do apps. While Notion's calendar looks great, the Google Calendar integration could be smoother. It's really about what you make of it - fantastic for document collaboration, but you might want to keep your specialized apps for specific needs.
Notion and Miro each shine in their own way - Notion excels at text-heavy collaboration, while Miro is your go-to for visual brainstorming. If you're constantly on your phone, Notion's the clear winner with its mobile-friendly interface. Plus, Notion's page organization makes it a champ at storing files and images, even if it might slow things down a bit. Miro? Not so much in the file organization department.

Do you think Notion delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Notion's feature set?

Yes

Did Notion live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Notion go as expected?

No

Would you buy Notion again?

Yes

Notion is a solid choice for text-based team collaboration, but don't expect it to replace your visual collaboration tools like Miro. While the basic features are straightforward, its deep customization options can be both a blessing and a curse. Tech-savvy users will love tweaking their workspace, but it might overwhelm less tech-confident team members. In my experience, it often ends up with a few power users managing everything while others stick to read-only mode. Great for knowledge sharing, but consider team's comfort with new tech before diving in.
