Overall Satisfaction with Parallels Remote Application Server

Parallels Remote Application Server is being used over the whole company to grant secure and central access to critical business applications for one of my clients. For [my client], this is the lowest TCO product to not only benefit from the local and remote access to their business applications from almost any device but also keep the user experience, performance and accessibility at the same high level for every user anywhere without being dependent on the state of their individual client device.
  • Universal access from any device
  • Universal access to legacy and modern applications
  • License pricing (and support and maintenance) for SMB could be more adapted to the features actually being used
  • Since the first implementation, the prices were drastically raised as have the support and maintenance prices which negatively influenced the yearly costs per user.
  • Overal the TCO of being able to use the business application are lower than competing products.
Parallels RAS combines almost all features in one product.
Whether users need ad-hoc or continuous access to applications, Parallels RAS does the job! In times of dynamic office hours and longer travel time/costs of our employees, we were able to use our business applications from anywhere at anytime in a very secure manner.
Mobile access is not being used very much in our organization. Sometimes we were able to use tablets to get quick and secure access to our internal business applications.
We only use Parallels RAS to publish apps and desktops and made no use of the virtualization features.
All the security layers of Parallels RAS were used in our environment but we also added ip-address filtering at the firewall amongst other security measurement just to be sure to prevent data leakage of malicious activity.
Training and documentation on our side and a good comprehension of the technologies involved made it unnecessary to use the support resources from Parallels.
