Overall Satisfaction with PathFactory
We use PathFactory to host content marketing / demand generation materials. Our marketing team hosts hundreds of gated or publicly available documents on it. It connects to SalesForce but we've had issues with data quality. In our experience, the overall UX is clunky and dated. To me, it's essentially a high-priced PDF hosting service with limited analytics and customer support.
Pros
- Host PDFs
- Upload interface
- That's pretty much it
Cons
- Data quality
- Customer service / CSMs
- Back end UX
- Front end UX
- Negative: In my opinion, our marketing team looks like idiots in front of our sales team because the data in SDFC and PathFactory doesn't match
- Negative: In my experience, have had to explain to leadership why our SQO number look so bad
- Negative: In our experience, each time the contract comes up for renewal we have difficulty explaining the ROI of the tool
- Negative: In our experience, meetings with the CSMs are a total unproductive timesuck
In our experience, we have not benefited from this because the data isn't clean. We can't judge a campaign's effectiveness if we can't trust the data. Additionally, we are a tech company and the interface looks like it's from the early aughts to me, which is embarrassing to say the least. Everyone here hates this tool.
I was not part of the initial launch process. This reminds me of another point: We tried to tell our CSM this and get training and they passed along some documents to us but didn't generally assist. In our experience, of our 3 CSMs over the past year, none have actually been helpful to us. The tool might have more capabilities than we are utilizing but we wouldn't know it because, in my opinion, the CSMs are that bad.
PathFactory does a good job of displaying PDFs. But many days it feels like we could accomplish this just the same using Google Drive or a free service. It's essentially a realy expense document repository for our company. In my opinion, the back end is unbelievably clunky -- I say, do not purchase this tool and certainly not until you've seen what's under the hood.
To be honest we haven't yet looked into other tools, but I'm willing to bet 99% of them are better than this service. Even if a competitor is nearly equal or less expensive in terms of the back- or front-end UX, I'd happily go with a more expensive option that has decent customer service.
