Overall Satisfaction with Paycom

We do everything with Paycom. It's the payroll processing of course, but it's also implemented in the benefits side. And that's the reason why we came to Paycom was for the EDI feeds to the carriers within the benefits program. It makes it so much easier whenever the employees do the open enrollment, they click submit, feeds it to the carriers, and that makes my life a lot easier. It makes it a lot more efficient for the employees. They see exactly what they're signing up for. Beautiful product couldn't ask for better.

Pros

  • I've already mentioned the benefits, but on the employee side, the time clock system that we have with Paycom is super easy. We do make the employees do a hundred percent of their own management of the timekeeping. We make no changes whatsoever to the time, which is a change we used to have with a DP. We were always going in there and making all these punch corrections and all that stuff because it was so difficult. With Paycom, the employees go in there and make it instantly fix their own timecard. They approve their timecard, I approve it, smooth. This is the best.

Cons

  • That's hard. I can't really think of any areas of improvement. It's pretty seamless. And we have a dedicated specialist, which is again different than most all the other payroll providers. And she's very responsive. If I send her an email or a call, I'll get a response within a couple hours and if she doesn't know the answer, she'll be the first one to say, Hey, I don't know the answer, but I'm going to get with my people and get you an answer. And we typically have the answer within the day and we're happy. So really I don't really see any areas of improvement.
  • So let's just talk on errors. Since we've been on the product for the last three years, we've had zero payrolls that had an error. Me and the accounting director, we process it, we double check each other, we're checks and balances. So I do the original inputting the data that she goes through and she prints out the reports, she reviews the reports, I review the reports, make sure everything is accurate. We find very, very few errors and the errors are us. It's not you, it's us. And so we fix those problems that we find throughout the process and then we submit it and then we get an accurate payroll. I mean that's kind of unusual for payroll. They're always, every vendor that I've ever used, it always seemed like there was one or two little tiny things that you got to go, oh, we'll fix that next payroll. I've not said that once since we've been with Paycom, which is incredible. So the efficiency and just that part of it, you click submit, it goes, and we're done for two weeks and we don't have to worry about remembering stuff and trying to figure out stuff. So beautiful.

I've already touched on most of it. I think again, for us, the benefits, the online enrollment process is just so seamless. Even whenever I first came with this organization, we did everything by paper forms during open enrollment. And that would typically mean five forms from every employee times 200. You can do the math. I mean that's over a thousand forms that I would have to go through and select and make sure that every box is checked, every signature, every date is in place. That's a huge process. And with this, I can literally do the open enrollment for all 213 employees in two days. Open the enrollment, tell them, "hey, by the end of the day, Friday it's submitted and we're done. Where it used to be, we would literally have our open enrollment open for a month and that's done". So that's probably the best thing, the best for us. That was the most important thing that we saw in Paycom. Paycome does it seamlessly.
