Overall Satisfaction with Paycor

Paycor is our payroll/HRIS and applicant tracking vendor. In our experience, Paycor does not provide the support they presented during the sales process. We cannot schedule or run reports and performance reviews have turned into a manual process. Benefits also do not align with payroll since implementation did NOT want to import the benefits from our previous system so Paycor did not recognize any changes with open enrollment.

Pros

  • User Friendly

Cons

  • Missing Reports (like time off requests for managers to run)
  • In our experience, inability to customize and schedule reports
  • In our experience, inability to set reviews based on separate review dates from hire dates
  • In our experience, customer service always just pointing to articles versus just helping navigate through the problem/question
  • Increase in manual work for HR
  • Payroll processing has increased instead of decreasing
  • Use for those who access the platform once in a while (performance reviews and time off requests) is user friendly
  • Regular reports are not available and create very manual entries
Our HR and/or payroll team is spending more time than we did previously due to Paycor. - In our experience, we have had to double check payroll due to inconsistent changes with each payroll. Also, entries are not easily added (like one off gross up payrolls). There is no warning of changes for employees from the previous payroll, so each employee needs to be reviewed separately. Payroll processing time has greatly increased. Also the post-payroll reports are all in PDF when excel would be preferred and have to be converted each time.
In my opinion, it is good for users who do not use the platform often - time off requests, performance reviews. Those who use it frequently and rely on it for reporting are forced to move into manual processes in order to obtain the data needed for audits and reporting. In my experience, Paycor also does not have flexibility to create reports from any field available (like available time off or when time off was used).
Paycor is user friendly and includes reimbursement requests as part of the same platform to integrate with payroll.
Paycor however, in my experience, is not as flexible as originally proclaimed. Just like most others evaluated, there is a lack of customization within the platform and most importantly with the reporting. I would recommend ensuring all reports needed are shown and how you can generate them (like time off request reports with balances)

Do you think Paycor delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Paycor's feature set?

No

Did Paycor live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Paycor go as expected?

No

Would you buy Paycor again?

No

I think Paycor does well with being user friendly to those in the organization who do not utilize the platform often. In my opinion, Paycor does not lend itself to flexibility and ability to access consistent help from a team that understands the platform and our business needs. In our experience, the sales process does not align with actual use as a client.
