Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
I use Paylocity for payroll, benefits, reporting, workflows, training, and onboarding. I am working within Paylocity every single day, so it is important that the system works well and is easy to navigate through. Before switching to Paylocity, we used tons of paper throughout the employee life-cycle. Now everything is electronic and immensely easier to track and maintain. We have also greatly appreciated the flexibility of payroll and being able to make changes to employee profiles even while a payroll batch is open and not having to start over each time. The system just makes sense for a user with how it functions and that means a lot when you are performing very vital tasks within it like payroll.
Pros
- Customer service. I have appreciated being able to call in whenever I have a question or issue and I am able to talk to an actual person who is knowledgeable and kind.
- User Interface. The system is easy to navigate through and find what you need. This was a big improvement for us from our previous system.
- Robust. There is a lot to the system and we have enjoyed being able to do a lot of things within one software rather than having to log into multiple systems for each small task or process.
Cons
- Client GL updating. We wish we could update our GL settings ourselves.
- Expense Management. We wish that this system was a little more robust and built out.
- Reporting. We have experienced occasions where reports were not calculating correctly and Paylocity was aware of this but did not let customers know.
- It used to take me 3 days to process payroll and now I can do it in an afternoon. And we have grown during that time as well. The time savings that has come a direct result of using Paylocity have opened up a lot of opportunities for our company.
- We make much fewer errors related to payroll because of the pre process reporting and being able to easily view and understand the payroll before we submit it.
- We have been able to implement an on-demand pay option for our employees where they are able to access their funds in between payrolls and have noticed greater retention as a result.
We have been able to dedicate more time to helping our business and team members improve and be more successful because we are spending less time in manual payroll processes. We also feel that we are able to have more meaningful and timely conversations regarding our labor and costs so that we can make the necessary changes to workloads, schedules, and store rosters.
It is difficult to measure whether the employee engagement tools have helped our retention rates, but we do absolutely feel that employee communication has benefited. We are able to communicate key information, updates, and goals to employees and that helps make sure that the company as a whole is moving in the same direction and on the same page.
There really is no comparison between our old software and Paylocity. We brought our systems into the 21st century and everything is better as a result. We spend less time on the payroll process specifically, but also feel like we have a greater understanding of it at the same time. Before we felt like we had to cater to the system and its limitations and now it feels like Paylocity is able to flex and mold to how we want our processes to be.
