Paylocity Review
Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We use Paylocity for full scope HR support--payroll, timekeeping, benefits, performance management, recruiting--everything except LMS because we have a separate LMS specific to our industry and managed by our training team.
Pros
- compensation plans
- benefits enhanced
- payroll--it's robust and relatively easy and straightforward to use
- Community! this was one we were excited about most to offer folks, as not everyone has company email
- Customer Service!!!!!!!!! I cannot say enough good things about our experience with our account manager ([...]), and most recently with the person helping with benefit open enrollment ([...]). They have truly made all the difference for our experience.
- LOVE that Paylocity quarterbacks OE changes for us!!
Cons
- timekeeping--lots of opportunities, including can't make notes without a pay code, our on call setup is complicated and confusing
- the app--really need to get the rest of the functionality here built out sooner than later! and Community is currently NOT working for most Android users which is infuriating!
- PTO--the delay between time taken in Time & Labor to being posted in HR & Payroll/ ESS is confusing
- Reporting!!! The Dynamic reporting functionality is great, but most of the canned reports are TERRIBLE and useless, we can't hardly get any reports that will provide us allocated data
- Community--there are some limitations here that make it more difficult to use than we anticipated, including not being able to BLOCK certain users from access (or even create a security/user role with no access), complicated steps to tailor our audience, no push notifications except for admin announcements
- implementation was MISERABLE. so incredibly disorganized and mismanaged, it took us more than a year to recover from it, and we're actually still working on some pieces
- negative would be the incredibly abysmal implementation experience we had--this created an exorbitant amount of lost time and efficiency for our HR team, as well as delays and confusion for our team members
- positive is the visibility of Community
- Compensation plans have been a game-changer as well, for annual increases as well as quarterly bonuses
the performance management and compensation plan functions have incredibly streamlined those processes, as well as benefits enhanced being integrated directly with payroll.
Community especially was feature that motivated us toward Paylocity versus other platforms we considered. Unfortunately some of the functionality is not as easy to use, or does perform quite in the way we had expected--limiting visibility/audiences is not as easy/flexible as we need it to be, push notifications are not automatic for ALL items in the feed, and it's currently not working at all for Android users--VERY frustrating. Surveys we were excited about but realized that it is INCREDIBLY limited without upgrading to premium.
Reporting is NOT as robust as what was available through ADP, and ADP has benefit selection technology that Paylocity does not, but Community in Paylocity was further along, as was the app, and these were big draws for us. ADP also has more robust market data/information.
