Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for Benefit Administration, Time Cards, LMS, Reviews, Journals, payroll, skills, certifications, community, recruiting and Onboarding. Paylocity is used to start the employee life cycle and follows the employee all the way through to separation. The app is very user friendly.

Pros

  • Time Cards - easy to clock in & out
  • HR - easy to keep information updated
  • Community - great way to communicate amongst a sub set of groups
  • Skills & certification renewals - easy to enter & then get notification when someone has something expiring

Cons

  • Benefits Administration - the process to submit, the build out, updating, it is all time consuming & not user friendly
  • Shift Swapping - there are a lot of extra steps in the process
  • LMS - would be nice to archive trainings when they are obsolete, even if they have been issued and had completions
  • Being able to link hours would to our POS system
  • Utilizing Leave/FMLA/OSHA coding & leave management
  • Everything is in one place
  • Tip pooling is still handled outside the system - and is time consuming
As we operate a manufacturing and restaurant in the system - I don't know that we have gained much time saving aside from having everything in 1 platform vs multiple. Payroll processing - we still have processes outside the system and spreadsheets to reference manage.
Our younger employees are more adept and more likely to utilize.
Overall with a few exceptions the system is easy to use and set up. I do appreciate the updates and development that continually take place. There needs to be a solution with the benefit reports - that are actually accurate.
Paylocity offered a more comprehensive platform for a slightly better price.

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

Overall it is a well put together platform. Customer service in general is very capable and responds in the expected amount of time. App is extremely user friendly. Staff enjoys the community feature allowing them to connect any time. Time & Labor in general is very easy to use, there are a lot of ways to set up so it is capable of shift differentials, etc. The Benefit platform is probably where they could spend more time with development. It is simple for the employee to make their selections but the entire set up process is PAINFUL at best.

Integrating Paylocity

While the set up was easy - it didn't perform as required.
  • John Hancock
The set up appeared to be easy, our plan is not complex. What happened was that Paylocity was sending to John Hancock irrelevant information. We ended up terminating the feed.
  • UnitedHealth Care
  • Toast
  • John Hancock
  • Delta Dental
Some of them do.
  • API (e.g. SOAP or REST)
Be cautious. Find others who have successfully integrated and value the feedback they provide.
