Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity to process all our payroll cycles. This includes funding, transferring state, federal taxes, unemployment compliance, W2 processing. We also have GL reports that are manually keyed into QuickBooks Online. It would be great to have this automated to avoid manual enter and risk of errors. We do have equity partners who require a K1 Form and payroll cycles are different from employee payroll. Paylocity is able to do both.

We also use them for tracking signature for our employee handbook.

  • Not a big training lift for new employees; adapt quickly to the timekeeping and PTO request process
We still need to audit our Holiday pay because it is not matching the schedules. Time tracking is reviewed and edits are required. We have made some strides this year with meeting with our client manager but have spent over 20 hours with him. We are hoping that in 2026 we see a reduction in time spent learning the system.
We are a small firm, and we do not utilize these products.
I will be repeating myself, but I feel the HR/Payroll product is great. Running our payroll cycles and off cycle payrolls is a smooth process. We use the Pre Process Register, Process Register, Change Report and GL Report. We would like to see integration with QuickBooks Online to automatically update the GL codes.
The Time & Labor module is extensive and mapping the different payroll schedules, PTO/Vacation schedules, Holiday schedules, PTO/Vacation Rollover has been a challenge. Again, non-time keeping employees work great.
We have had extensive training but then always finding we were not trained to click this "one button" and then need to meet with Paylocity again.
I have not used another product.

Yes

We have several meetings with our client manager and he is very helpful. We still have a challenge with writing procedures and having the ability to set up a new hire with their schedules, PTO, Holiday. There always seems to be a button we did not click on that will create errors.
Most of our frustration has been around the time keeping processes.
All salaried employees are processed accurately. Changing an employee to a K1 Partner has been a challenge also and it took two years for us to meet with the GL team and they fixed the issue now.
