Overall Satisfaction with Procore
Procore is being used to keep all of the job site information in a localized platform that keeps all of the documents up to date. Rather than having to hunt for information across multiple platforms/places everything is uploaded to one website that everyone involved with the project has access to. We are using within the BIM, project management, and field departments. The guys in the field love it.
Pros
- Organization is phenomenal.
- Access by all users is fantastic.
Cons
- Sometimes it is tedious to find a particular item but sometimes that is due to who has set the project up.
- My computer is running Windows 7 and there is not an application that I can put on my computer to make it easier to access drawings.
There are other products out there that cover aspects of what Procore does but nothing that I know of is as in-depth as Procore. It is in a league of its own.
I have definitely seen the benefits of using Procore and cloud-based access. If we have another guy show up to help run a job we just have to let the GC know the email of our guy and he has access to a multitude of information for that job site.
- Procore is a definite time-saver. Being able to have all of the information centralized is a solution to a problem that has always plagued construction. As they say, time is money. Anything to simplify/save time is a definite plus.
- Gain visibility into projects
- Ensure information is accessible and up to date
- Document job site conditions
- Track cost impacts from the field
Access to drawings, specifications, RFIs, ASIs, and punch list items are probably our main use for Procore. Even Having access to other trades information can be beneficial. We tend to look at and focus on our scope of work but sometimes there are changes to other trades' drawings/scope that impact us. Being able to access their information to answer why we are seeing a change and being able to figure out why that trade made that change is definitely beneficial.
