Overall Satisfaction with QuickBase

Our organization adopted Quickbase approximately 5 years ago to handle multiple functions for various departments. We used it heavily within HR, IT and Development. Due to acquisition and structural changes, we are currently using it most heavily in the Release Management / Development application.

Pros

  • Excellent reporting that is extremely flexible.
  • API Access from external applications.
  • Cloud based reduces internal IT overhead.

Cons

  • Increased audit logging for troubleshooting for administrators.
  • Version control integration.
  • Ability to search through historic records quickly.
We've tried to implement various other development tools, including Github, Redmine, Bugzilla, etc.. but none of them give the overall experience that Quickbase offers.
Quickbase does an excellent job from a product or project manager perspective to get an overview of a project and assign items to a release. Release tasks or QA issues, while well defined, are sometimes tedious to enter when trying to work quickly.

Using QuickBase

While I personally like it, the decision is not mine as to the future direction of it.
