Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Online

QuickBooks Online is being used by my clients - small owner managed businesses. It provides bookkeeping records, and generates invoices and financial statements. The client keeps the accounts receivable and bad debts records and reviews them on a monthly basis. It is user friendly and the reports generated are very useful. It is a common software highly used by certified accountants.
  • It creates invoices and provides a format which links to customer basis and records.
  • It generates various reports and financial statements for different periods which is good for comparison.
  • It covers most of the needs of bookkeeping.
  • It's covered almost everything - the icons seem confusing. Grouping needs to be improved.
  • It's time consuming to set up a new book.
  • Technical support and training sessions online would help.
  • It increases employee efficiency.
  • It saves on accounting consulting fees.
Comparing QuickBooks with SAP ERP, it's more preferred for small and medium size business whereas SAP ERP is more for complex and large organizations. SAP ERP is very complicated to set up and expensive as far as I know. It requires a professional accountant to maintain and occupies a large space in the server.
I like it. I would recommend it to my clients using QuickBooks Online. It has ease of configuration for clients in various industries. It allows clients to generate various reports for internal and external use. It is very user friendly. It also prices at a reasonable price range for small businesses.
Ask about the cost of using this software. Its pricing is affordable for small business, and for the owner managed business in the market. Its various version are well suited for various sized organizations. If it provides more free training sessions and seminars, it may attract more users. The online version is user friendly which makes it more efficient.

Using QuickBooks Online

2 - They represent the owner managed business. It is being used by the owner and bookkeeping staff on a regular monthly basis; especially in account receivables, for creating invoices, and generating monthly reports. They represent start up business which have a low budget for cost center. Its book is relatively simple and has a small volume of transactions.
1 - The in house staff to support QuickBooks Online needs to be experienced in using accounting software. It requires more than basic accounting knowledge. I would say 1-2 years of solid working experience in accounting, or co-op student with over 2-3 years of accounting training. It requires the knowledge of accounting cycles and accounting principles.

As technology becomes a part of daily life, it's efficient and consistent to keep using the same accounting software over a long period of time. I believe that it's very likely that my client and I will renew our use of QuickBooks Online in the future years.

Using QuickBooks Online

It's easy to download, install and login for access. This is especially true for people who work in various places such as a home office, client's site and on a business trip. The data is stored online which sounds like a more safe environment as compared to a hardware which may break down, got lost or stolen.
