Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write

We use Read&Write for all of our special education students as well as our 504 students. It is used to help support them in reading and writing, and has been very beneficial to many of them!

Pros

  • Highlighting textual evidence
  • Speech to text
  • reading aloud the text

Cons

  • increased engagement
  • increased independence
  • improved inclusion
  • time saved by addition staff not being needed to read things aloud
It is great because students can log into their account at home, or even on vacation, and on any computer and be able to access Read&Write and all of its features.
We have a student who was not able to participate in school at all, but with the addition of speech to text, he was able to participate and engage in many lessons, that he otherwise would not have been able to. And he still felt independent because he could do it on his own, and sa staff member was not needed.
Read&Write has many more features, such as highlighting, speech to text, picture dictionary, screen contrast, and masking. Read&Write is much more accessible for all students and staff as well, since it is attached to their individual accounts.
