Rippling: A Comprehensive HR & Payroll Solution
Overall Satisfaction with Rippling
We use Rippling for payroll automation. It has automated the entire process and pays employees accurately and on time. It also handles compliance with local and federal regulations. It also integrates with our accounting software thereby eliminating the needs for posting additional entries. (Since there is no manual intervention the journal entries are literally error free)
Pros
- Payroll processing and automation
- Seamless onboarding and offboarding of employees
- Time and attendance tracking
- App and device management. (We can lock off an employee as soon as he quits)
- Most importantly it has an user friendly interface. (Ex : I wanted to update reimbursements of employees and it was extremely easy to set it up and process it)
Cons
- Limited report customisation - there should be an option to design the reports in a way we want, though existing customization reports serve the purpose it would have been if we were able to modify it based on our needs
- Limited API Access
- Tax compliance for Non US employees - this is a little tricky area and I found that their requirements were little too much.
- Savings in time spent and Operational Efficiency
- Lower admin cost and reduced IT and software costs
- Reduction in fines and penalties (arising due to non payment of payroll taxes on time)
- Higher employee satisfaction
- However initial set up time was a bit too much
- Few costs of customization were not clear.
- International payroll limitations. (Though Rippling is awesome for US its a bit complicated when it comes to other countries)
Core functionality : While QuickBooks Online (QB) is an accounting software Rippling is more designed for payroll and offers a lot of solutions. It integrates IT, HR and employee management in one application. (QB wasn't able to provide this feature at the cost that Rippling was charging) Rippling integrates with many software's which is a plus point and provides scability which is a bit difficult in QB
