Why Intacct!

Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We are using Intacct for all over the organization. The limitation we are facing is reporting in different currencies especially since we have offices in around 30 countries.

We are using general ledger and accounts payable at the moment. We have flexibility in this area as we can add a custom report and retrieve reports accordingly.
We are not using those modules. We used to have the global consolidation but it was not effective as it converts from base currency to reporting currency instead of transaction currency.
We were using Dynamics before switching to Intacct. The advantage of Intacct is being a cloud-based system, not a remote desktop.
Intacct is well suited for attaching documents, creating custom reports. It is less suited when it comes time to run financial reports in different currencies and run workflows between different entities.

Not-For-Profit Usage

  • Bamboo
We have 2 system integrated with Intacct. Bamboo the HR system push to Intacct the employees records. In addition to Bamboo we have DataBasics for time and expenses. Intacct push to DataBasics employees records and other dimensions. Then we extract the timesheets and expense reports from DataBasics and post them in Intacct.
It is powerful tool which allows user to have a quick overview in a glance. Currently we are not using this tool since for an organization with a complex structure it requires a lot of mantinance.
We are not using this function because of the limitation in the consolidation. The system converts from entity currency to reporting currency instead of functional to reporting currency which create discrepancies when we report to donors.
Since it is a cloud base system, closing the month process is much easier now. Same for reporting, now we have live and real time reports.

COVID-19 Updates & Changes

We are integrating Intacct with 2 other systems and it is functioning well.
The process has not been affected with COVID-19, we are still able to function as finance department using the system same as before.
