An Honest Review: Sage Intacct
Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
Sage Intacct is currently being used by the accounting and legal departments in WellSky. It has been useful during the integration period - when we acquire companies, Sage Intacct makes the merging of data very easy and relieves most of the department.
Pros
- Reports are easy to locate and run.
- Switching business units is obvious.
- Downloading .xls & .csv files is easy.
Cons
- Navigating from a record to an invoice requires too many clicks.
- Display more general information (AR report, payment data) so it is easily visible.
- Create a method to export a xls files with line items.
- If we cannot pull AR reports for specific date ranges, we cannot build a case for or against a client.
- The xls export makes life easier. No complaints.
- Clients are easily found within the system and it is easy to switch between business units.
I believe our company has benefited from the features provided. However, I worry they are not utilized as well as they could be. This is an opinion based on my subjective observations. AR can be automated, but the employee would prefer to run the process herself. The general ledger is definitely a massive help, after I was able to explain and provide insight on how it can be utilized properly for our company's needs.
I have not have the opportunity to use any of the additional modules offered. I would be elated to have the opportunity to do so. Especially in the area of contract revenue management. I feel project accounting would be greatly useful as well. Should I have the opportunity to use these modules, I will provide a more thorough review.

QuickBooks was overwhelming with the number of features that typically required more money. Sage Intacct seems to be exactly what it is presented as - simple accounting software that even I, a humanities major, am able to understand. I would happily work with Sage Intacct any day - QuickBooks has proprietary formats that create more difficulty for use. So, why bother?
