Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We use Sage to submit expenses for payment. This is used company-wide and allows us to submit at an individual level, review, approve, and send for payment. The biggest problem this helps us solve is tracking expense payments and ensuring proper budget stewardship. My organization submits 50-100 payments per year. Sometimes the search functionality can be a bit clunky, and I do not love going from entry to posting as items can get lost during this transition.

Pros

  • Very simple to add the fields that are necessary.
  • Nice to see full history of payments and approvals.
  • Clean interface for users.

Cons

  • I would love a guide for each field to ensure it's clear what everything means.
  • Better understanding of flow of a PO/submission.
  • Functionality to see an individual's submissions. I want to easily see my previous submissions.
  • Tracking from a team-level management perspective, I understand what my team is spending on and what.
  • Strong controls for approvals.
  • Great triggers for payment submissions.
As a growing organization, we have a number of vendors for whom we need to submit payment. The triggers for payment and approvals are extremely helpful in ensuring we do not fall behind as an organization and stay up to date. This connects all of the teams and key functions.
We use Sage Intacct’s multi-entity and global consolidations, project accounting, and spend management modules. Together, they streamlined close timelines, improved visibility across entities and projects, strengthened cost controls, and reduced manual work. The added automation and real-time reporting enabled more accurate forecasting, better decision-making, and scalable financial operations as the organization grew.
Sage configuration is a bit complicated because our organization has multiple "branches," so identifying where the expense originates is challenging. Additionally, vendor creation can be timely. We have also found it a bit difficult to "delete" entries from fields once they are created, so there is a need for broader cleanup.

I feel that Sage does a good job working as a PO system and helps meet the necessary criteria. In other words, it does the necessary job. I think there are some functionalities that would allow Sage to go to the next level, such as individual submitter customization and better tracking of a specific user's previous submissions.
