Overall Satisfaction with Salesloft

Our BDR/SDR team uses Salesloft as the primary platform for handling inbound leads and for orchestrating outbound activities such as cold emails and cold calling. The primary objective of the BDR/SDR team is to be a pipeline generation engine for the new logo, existing customer and channel sales teams at Fusion Connect.

Pros

  • Schedules outbound activities (e.g. calls, emails) and provides a daily worklist for each BDR/SDR. Flexible approach to prioritization based on organization strategy and/or customer engagement. Allows the BDR to focus on their value add - engaging directly with the prospect - and minimizes administrative overhead.
  • Provides a one-click "Book a meeting with me" link that simplifies the meeting scheduling experience for prospects. No more emailing back and forth to find a date and time that works.
  • Includes call recording and a live "call studio" where a manager can listen to active calls and "whisper" to the BDR if needed. This provides great post-call or in-call support for coaching new BDR/SDRs.
  • Delivers a decent set of reporting that allows visibility into individual BDR productivity as well as tracking macro trends such as call volume, pick-ups and meeting scheduled. This allows for problem detection and tuning to maximize productivity.
  • Support and customer success teams are incredibly responsive and extremely helpful.

Cons

  • Would be nice to have custom reporting available. Coming from Salesforce, the included canned reports are useful but I like to roll my sleeves up and build exactly what I want.
  • Conversations will record meetings booked via MSTeams but requires the BDR/SDR to hit record. Other solutions (e.g. Chorus.ai) join as a participant and don't require a user hitting the "record" button. We have to change our flow to make this work and it is a bit clunky.
  • Doubled meetings booked & opportunities generated
  • One pane of glass for understanding where the team and individuals are from a goal & productivity perspective
  • Huge improvement ins BDR/SDR quality of life and job satisfaction
  • Allowed us to scale substantially without making additional investments owing to the automation the tool provides
Early on when we were just getting started building our first cadences and setting up the integration with Salesforce I had a never-ending stream of questions for the support/customer success team. They did an incredible job of responding very quickly and thoroughly to every inquiry. I was and continue to be extremely impressed with the quality of support and customer success.

Salesloft Rhythm (BDR/SDR home screen) provides a landing page where all the prioritized work is queued for immediate execution. The UX is clean and the only other elements is a stream of activity indicating prospects interacting with content (e.g. clicking a link in an email). My experience with other tools was that their "home" pages had a dozen icons and it was confusion for someone new to the platform to figure out where to go to work on the next item.

In my experience, Salesloft is suitable for BDR/SDR teams that need to manage a lot of outbound activities in support of inbound leads, event-based leads, and pure cold calling and cold-emailing. Prior to implementing Salesloft the BDR/SDR job was very hard to do well as there was very limited automation and a lot of manual tasks required to get everything just right. Our volume of meetings booked and opportunities generated has more than doubled as a result of implementing Salesloft.
