SAP Crystal Reports

Overall Satisfaction with SAP Crystal

We're small; the whole org uses it. Helps translate data from an older database into files/data we can use.

  • Translating data into formats we can use
  • Makes reports easily repeatable
  • Still not very user-friendly when trying to build a report
  • No great info on how to use
  • other
We did not compare - picked by IT company.
[It's] not good for people who don't normally work with or understand concepts of a database - not easy for some front end users.

Using SAP Crystal

5 - We are a small staff and most folks work on several aspects of the organization. The individuals using crystal reports make come from various areas of our organization - mainly operations focused. Crystal reports serves as our main reporting function for the organization's database, so it's used for many reasons, e.g., rental of mailing lists, dashboard information for statistical purposes, e.g., how many renewing, how many new, how long certified, also used for exporting data for use with excel for inhouse mailings or outside email blast communications.
We're too small for in-house 'support' of Crystal reports. We have an outside IT company that handles any issues. Creating reports, etc. are usually able to be handled by current staff. Wouldn't honestly say the most user-friendly or intuitive for a typical user in our company, but we are able to make it work and it provides us with data needed in most instances without outside help. The tech company does handle setting up more complicated reports/layouts.
  • Hard to say at this time.
  • Verification statements
  • export data for use with other software
  • statistical review
  • Create a verification statement with history from database

Using SAP Crystal

Gives us data needed, but not always easiest to use.
