Overall Satisfaction with ScreenConnect
We primarily use SC for remote accessing our company machines, wake them up and run updates etc and provide remote support.
Unattended Access is quite handy and do is support in case of a new machine or if we need to temp support a machine.
However elevation prompts during support session are very clunky and there is decent lag in the prompt to enter admin password. Moreover its not intuitive. So the only option is to install the permanent access using an installer by physically present on site.

Pros
- unattended access once installed
- Wake up the machines
- Backstage to work on machine while end user is still using it
- Machine info, processes and logs that you can see up to certain extent in SC
Cons
- backstage is excellent but can be very slow/laggy at times and needs more features
- Privileged Access Management should be integrated and part of premium license
- you need to pay twice for access if you buy privileged access management standalone and the integrated option is either not available or too expensive
- There was a time SC was a really good option (best value for money) but now it seems they are also in the same rat race as other software companies which forced us to move away from other software companies. Prices are simply becoming unaffordable and forcing us to look for other cheaper alternatives. As much as the product may be ok for our requirement, its hard to justify the prices quoted now.
- Existing and loyal customers are neither acknowledged or rewarded for their loyalty. Its all about how to get more money. 100% focus on capitalism and zero focus on brand building, customer rapport and maintaining a bigger market share by keeping the prices reasonable.
- compared to other vendors it takes ages to get hold of someone for a simple sales question and the follow ups are also quite dull.
- saved a little bit of travelling occasionally
- Access to machines after hours to perform some tasks
- lack of features that should have been builtin and clunky in some areas
- hard to get approval to pay for additional features in software from management as it confuses everyone, why we need to pay more to have something that should have already been there
Its lightweight and it is slightly cheaper than TeamViewer at least at the time of buying ScreenConnect. But we are exploring any desk and splash top again.
