Overall Satisfaction with Skype

We are moving to a distributed model of the organisation, with staff spread all over he world. Skype is a tool to communicate, via chat or by call for remote meetings. It can also be useful for face-to-face interaction, provided you have a webcam.
  • Calls
  • Face to face remote meetings
  • Instant messages
  • Multiple users conversations can sometimes be difficult
  • Not sure about usage of bandwidth
  • We sometimes have to use alternatives like zoom or arkadin or webex
  • Good so far but I think we're moving away from it for large digital meetings
  • It's still relevant as an instant message software
  • Webex and Zoom
For large digital meetings, we are moving to zoom.
For interactive sessions, we normally use webex and for good quality connections in remote meetings we'll use Arkadin
Skype is good for quick chats between colleagues. It's useful too when the program starts automatically with your PC in the morning. Being able to see the person you talking with is great. However not sure it can handle a large number of concurrent users very well.
