Overall Satisfaction with Skype

Skype is used by our organization for a quick and simple way to IM and call coworkers throughout our whole organization. It helps facilitate fast communication so our teams can get their answer and move forward as effectively as possible. It also helps in sharing connections between teams and organizing communications by groups.

  • Buggy on occasion
  • Audio quality can be poor
  • Video quality can be poor
  • Poor visibility on security/encryption capability
  • Minimizes Cost and need for expensive calling systems
  • When acting up and buggy, inhibits communication and burns valuable time
Skype stands out as a more cost-effective solution, but the features are very similar and Skype may fall a bit behind compared to the big competitors it faces due to its occasional technical issues. We selected Skype because our organization is smaller and it is a cost-effective solution.

Skype is well suited for organizations looking for a lightweight, easy to install, and cost effective communication management system to connect their teams and organize those communications in a way that is focused.

Skype is less appropriate for companies dealing with sensitive information- financial, health care institutions and the like.
