Overall Satisfaction with Skype
Skype is what I might call a secondary app. We have used Skype and atone time it was our main app. However in the last year we have moved to other apps. Skype was replaced with Teams by one of our largest clients and we decided to follow their lead. We also use WhatsApp for personal purposes.
- Ease of use
- Easy to set up
- Presentation mode is good and stable
- Skype sometimes “staggers” during calls and voice or video will lock
- There are issues with ‘Skype bombing’
- There is a sense Skype is not secure
- Got into web calling and presenting easily
- Ubiquity makes it easy to work with others
- Does all you need without a lot of complex or heavy extras
Microsoft Teams provides basically the same services. Local number calling is not available (that I know of) but that only matters if you have any need to use it. Teams is a little more stable, especially with a lot of people on a call. Skype is easier to set up and to operate. Skype also has a larger install base.
