Overall Satisfaction with Slack
I have been using Slack for the last 3 years on a project in which I am a freelancer. The company I collaborate with uses this software to manage communication between teams. We have some workspaces between different teams based on organizational division (i.e., marketing, design). Most written communication between team members is done inside Slack.
- Text Communication
- Audio calls
- Knowledge organization
- Audio calls (huddles) never seemed to work very well
- Free plan should keep more than 90 days message history
- Threads and channels organization is not very intuitive for beginners
- Text Communication
- Really simple/casual task validation and approval flows
- Workspaces
- Less rework
- Easy and faster communication
- Low cost of adaption/onboarding of users
Slack is the first level of organization after Whatsapp/Telegram groups for teams. Slack is easier to adapt but more feature-limited and also more expensive than Discord. Slack is more well-suited for communication and less suited for task management than Trello. More focused on professional communication and collaboration, and that's why my clients chose it over other tools.
